Set of 4 postcards to celebrate Perky Blenders Coffee of the Month this August 2023, celebrating two of their suppliers in China, Banka and Burundi, Rugembe Hill.
"From one of the smallest coffee-producing countries in East Africa, Burundi, we source the beans from Rugembe Hill, where numerous farmers join efforts to deliver the best of their harvest to the local washing station, Migoti.
The name “Migoti” comes from a local indigenous tree, which is also the name of the mountain where the washing station is located.
Rugembe Hill is a great representative of the flavor of Burundi’s coffee, known for its sweet, floral, and spiced flavors with apple notes.
To enhance this blend, we use another washed coffee, Banka, from the region of Yunnan in China - a region that is responsible for over 97% of China’s coffee production.
The region is a bit of a melting pot, being very culturally diverse and also boasting a vast array of flora and fauna.
Banka grows mostly Catimor, a resistant cross variety that often carries a bit of a bad reputation for its lack of cup quality.
